Privacy Policy

nisk.ai ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Audio Processing
nisk.ai processes audio from your device microphone in real-time to provide coaching and analysis. We do not record, store, or retain any audio. Audio is streamed to our speech-to-text provider (Deepgram) for transcription, then discarded immediately. No audio files are ever saved on our servers or yours.
nisk processes audio in real-time via Deepgram speech-to-text. Audio is streamed, never recorded, and immediately discarded after processing. No audio files are stored on any server.
2. Transcripts and Session Data
Transcribed text is sent to the Anthropic API for AI analysis during your session. Once a session ends, transcripts are not retained on our servers. Any session notes or saved cards are stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage and are never sent to us.
3. Data Stored on Your Device
We use your browser's localStorage to save:
- Your preferences (language, mode, persona, voice settings)
- Session notes and saved cards
- Voice signature data (if you record one)
- Emergency contact number (if you set one)
- Onboarding completion flag
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it. You can clear all stored data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for nisk.ai.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate nisk.ai:
- Anthropic (Claude API) — for AI analysis and coaching responses. Text from your conversations is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use your data to train their models. Anthropic Privacy Policy.
- Deepgram — for real-time speech-to-text transcription. Audio is streamed and processed in real-time with no storage. Deepgram Privacy Policy.
- ElevenLabs — for AI voice synthesis (text-to-speech coaching responses). Text is sent to ElevenLabs for processing and audio is returned in real-time; no data is retained. ElevenLabs Privacy Policy.
- Serper — for real-time web search and fact-checking. Query text is sent to Serper's API to retrieve search results during sessions. Serper Privacy Policy.
- Supabase — for user account storage, authentication, credits tracking, and optional session history. When you create an account, your email address and user ID are stored securely in Supabase. Credit balances and referral data are stored in Supabase. Supabase Privacy Policy.
- Stripe — for payment processing. We do not store your payment card details. All payment data is handled by Stripe under their security standards. Stripe Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft Clarity — for analytics and user experience improvement. Clarity collects anonymized session recordings and heatmaps to help us understand how users interact with nisk.ai. Clarity may use cookies. Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Google Fonts — for typography. Google may collect anonymized usage data.
5. Cookies and Tracking
nisk.ai uses the following cookies and tracking technologies:
- Consent cookie — A single
nisk_consentcookie is set when you accept our consent banner. It expires after one year and contains no personal data. - Microsoft Clarity — We use Microsoft Clarity for anonymized analytics (session heatmaps, interaction patterns). Clarity may set cookies on your device to collect this data. No personally identifiable information is collected through Clarity. You can opt out via your browser's cookie settings or by using a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts.
We do not use cookies for advertising, cross-site tracking, or profiling. The only other client-side storage we use is localStorage for your preferences and session data as described in section 3.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Data is only shared with the third-party services listed above as necessary to provide the app's functionality.
7. Camera, Vision & AR Overlays
If you use the camera features (Snap, AR overlays), images are sent to the Anthropic API for real-time analysis and are never stored on our servers or your device. Camera access is only activated when you explicitly tap the camera button. AR overlay features (teleprompter, document scanner, live captions, emotion ring) process video frames in real-time and do not save any images or video.
8. Location Data
Location access is entirely optional. If granted, your approximate location is used only to provide location-aware suggestions (e.g., nearby services, local context). Location data is processed in real-time and is never stored on our servers or shared with third parties.
9. Battle Mode Data
Battle mode debate scores, topics, and results are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device. Shared battle invite links contain only the topic text and a session identifier — no personal data is transmitted.
10. Children's Privacy & Kids Mode
nisk.ai is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@nisk.ai so we can delete it.
Kids Mode: nisk.ai offers a Kids Mode designed for supervised use by minors aged 13–17. When Kids Mode is active:
- Content filtering is applied to all AI responses
- Adult topics, violence, and inappropriate content are blocked at the AI system level
- No additional personal data is collected beyond standard app preferences
- Kids Mode state is stored only in your browser's localStorage and is never transmitted to our servers
- A parent or guardian is responsible for enabling and supervising Kids Mode use. See our Terms of Service for parental responsibility requirements.
11. Clearing Your Data
Since all user data is stored locally in your browser, you have full control. To delete all nisk.ai data:
- Open your browser settings
- Navigate to site data or storage settings
- Find and clear data for nisk.ai
This will remove all preferences, saved notes, and session history.
12. Your Rights Under GDPR (EU/EEA Users)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right to Access — You can export all your stored data at any time using the "Download My Data" button in the app settings. Since all data is stored locally in your browser, you already have direct access to it.
- Right to Deletion (Right to be Forgotten) — You can delete all your data immediately using the "Delete All My Data" button in settings, or by clearing your browser's site data for nisk.ai. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
- Right to Data Portability — The "Download My Data" feature exports your data as a standard JSON file that can be read by any software.
- Right to Rectification — Since all data is stored locally, you can modify your settings and preferences directly within the app at any time.
- Right to Restrict Processing — You can disable specific features (voice, location, camera) individually in the app settings.
- Right to Object — You can stop using the service at any time and delete all data with one tap.
Data Processor: Anthropic PBC processes conversation text through the Claude API for AI analysis. Anthropic acts as a data processor on our behalf and is subject to their own privacy policy. Anthropic does not use your data to train their models.
Legal Basis: We process data based on your explicit consent (provided via the consent banner) and legitimate interest in providing the service you requested.
13. Your Rights Under CCPA (California Users)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know — You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose. This is fully documented in this privacy policy and our Data Retention Policy.
- Right to Delete — You can delete all stored data using the "Delete All My Data" button in settings.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale — We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold personal information and have no plans to do so.
- Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
- Right to Data Portability — Use "Download My Data" in settings to export all your data.
Categories of personal information collected: Device preferences (stored locally only). Conversation text (processed in real-time, not stored). Approximate location (only when enabled, not stored).
We do not sell personal information to third parties. Data shared with third-party service providers (Anthropic, Deepgram, Stripe, ElevenLabs) is shared solely for the purpose of providing the service and is governed by their respective privacy policies.
14. Data Requests
To exercise any of your data rights, you can:
- Use the in-app "Download My Data" and "Delete All My Data" buttons in settings (recommended — immediate and self-service)
- Email us at privacy@nisk.ai with your request
We will respond to all data requests within 30 days (GDPR) or 45 days (CCPA).
15. Supabase Cloud Data Storage
When you create an account with nisk.ai, the following data is stored in Supabase (our cloud database provider hosted on AWS):
- Account data: Email address, user ID, account creation date
- Credits: Your credit balance and transaction history
- Gift codes: Redemption records (which codes you have used) — gift code content is not stored
- Referrals: If you refer someone or were referred, a record of that referral is stored (referrer ID, referred user ID, credits awarded)
- Email list: If you opt in to early access updates on our landing page, your email is stored in a separate email list table
Supabase stores data in the US (AWS us-east-1 by default). EU users should note this means data is transferred outside the EEA under standard contractual clauses. You can delete your account and all associated Supabase data by contacting privacy@nisk.ai.
16. Gift Code System
nisk.ai offers gift codes that can be redeemed for in-app credits. Regarding gift codes and your privacy:
- When you redeem a gift code, the redemption event (your user ID and the code used) is logged in Supabase to prevent reuse
- Gift codes themselves are not tied to your identity — they are anonymous until redeemed
- Credit balances are stored in your Supabase account record
- If you purchased a gift code for someone else, their redemption is not visible to you
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
